We are through three rounds of the 2024 NFL draft.  The Steelers have themselves quite the hall so far.  There are some holes to fill in this roster however. Here are a few day three names for the Steelers to keep an eye on today:

1.  Logan Lee DT – Iowa

Logan Lee is a very interesting defensive tackle prospect the Steelers had in for a pre-draft visit.  He has the required height this team likes standing just over 6’5”.  He did weigh in significantly under 300lbs, and has only 32” arms.  The kicker with this player is his elite athleticism for the position.  Logan Lee scored an incredible 9.20 RAS score in his testing.  This would be a good “bet on the traits” type of gamble this late in the draft.

2. Cornelius Johnson WR – Michigan

The Steelers got their slot receiver in Roman Wilson yesterday.  Today maybe they add his teammate as an outside speed threat in Cornelius Johnson.  Johnson managed to average almost 15 yards per reception in that ultra conservative Michigan offense.  He’s a bigger reciever at 6’2”, and an excellent athlete having scored 9.46 RAS score.

3. Sione Vaki S – Utah

Vaki would be a later round safety prospect with some upside.  He profiles as a strong safety in the NFL.  The attraction here is this is a player who could give the Steelers some quality special teams play right away.  We had Vaki in our last mock draft here:Steelers mock draft 4.0: The Final One

4.  Mason McCormick G – South Dakota St.

A three year captain who put on an absolute show at the NFL combine.  Mason McCormick scored a whopping 9.96 RAS score.  This may very well be the best player on the board when the Steelers select in the 4th round.  Pittsburgh had McCormick in for a predraft visit, so they have some level of interst.

5.  Daequan Hardy CB -Penn St.

Steelers still have a massive hole at the slot corner position.  Daequan Hardy could fill that role nicely.  He is more of a finesse, ball hawking corner who might struggle versus the run.  The Steelers seem to be emphasizing  speed on defense this offseason, and Hardy has that in spades having run a 4.38/40 time.  This is another player the team had in for a predraft visit.
