We may be in for another Steelers trade in the very near future.  There have been lots of trade rumors surrounding Steelers linebacker Patrick Queen dating back to the draft in April.  Rumors have once again heated up as the Steelers have brought back fan favorite Elandon Roberts this week to their practice squad. This got us thinking, what could Omar Khan reasonably expect for their under performing linebacker who is on the last year of his contract?

You can’t think about a Steelers trade without looking at the team’s preferred trade partner over the last few seasons.  Omar Khan seems to be dealing exclusively with the Dallas Cowboys these days.  Moreover, the Cowboys were the team rumored to be interested in Queen during the draft this past April.  So what do the Cowboys have, that the Steelers might need?

One thing Dallas has is an abundance of wide receivers.  Including one of the best tandems in the league of George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb, the Cowboys also have the underrated Ryan Flournoy and return specialist Kavontae Turpin.  The Steelers, on the other hand,  have an overwhelming need at that position now that both Michael Pittman and Roman Wilson are out for the foreseeable future.

One receiver not mentioned for the Cowboys is third year player Jonathan Mingo.  Mingo would appear to be expendable considering the Cowboys depth at the position.  He only has seven targets on the season, and seems to be the forgotten man in that group.  This is by no means a cure all for the Steelers woes at the wide receiver position.  Mingo would bring something different to the wide receiver room however, that being athleticism and speed.  Jonathan Mingo is a young player with an exceptional athletic profile.  He scored a 9.86 RAS coming out of Ole Miss in 2023.

At the end of the day, the Steelers could just settle for a day three pick to get Patrick Queen off the roster.  Why not get a warm body at a position of need instead?  Jonathan Mingo is not perfect by any stretch of the imagination.  He is young, and athletic with at least some upside however.  Keep an eye on this one, as these two franchises seem to love dealing with each other.  Both parties would benefit in this deal, with very little downside for either.
