The NFL trade deadline is November 1st.  The Pittsburgh Steelers will have just finished up their brutal four game stretch, and be headed to their bye week.  There is every possibility that this team could be 1-7 at that point.  If that’s the case, new Steelers GM Omar Khan should be looking to offload some players for future draft capital.  Here are three Steelers players who could be traded if the season continues to falter:

1.  Mitch Trubisky:

Mitch Trubisky’s trade value might not be too high at this point, but a quarterback desperate team might just bite.  The Steelers have always had a log jam at quarterback with Trubisky, Rudolph, and Pickett all on the roster.  We were convinced that Mason Rudolph would be the one to eventually get moved, but now it’s more likely that the disgruntled Trubisky goes.  Steelers 53 man roster prediction version 3.0

One team to keep an eye on here is the New York Giants.  Head coach Brian Daboll is clearly unhappy with his quarterback situation, and he is familiar with Mitch having worked with him in Buffalo in 2021.  Don’t look for much more than a 6th, or 7th round pick in return however.

2.  Larry Oganjobi

The Steelers have some depth at defensive tackle.  DeMarvin Leal has played well early on, and we have yet to even see Isaiahh Loudermilk take the field.  Oganjobi would certainly interest teams around the league.  Teams would only be on the hook of what would be left of his $6.5 million salary, and this is a player still playing at a relatively high level.  Oganjobi is a free agent at the end of the season, and is one of the Steelers players who is not likely to be back with the team.  Why not try to get a 4th or 5th round pick now rather than lose him for nothing at the end of the year.

3.  Chase Claypool

Chase Claypool is quickly falling out of favor with Steelers fans, and might soon be the same with this coaching staff.  His inability to bring down 50/50 balls is becoming maddening.  Still, there are probably teams out there that would still covet his immense athletic tools.  It’s too bad the Raiders have changed management, they were always Kevin Colbert’s go to for dumping overrated wide receivers.  There’s still an outside chance someone might offer a third round pick for Claypool.  If so, the Steelers should jump at that offer immediately.
