Night one of the NFL Draft did not go the Steelers way. Makai Lemon was literally minutes from becoming a Pittsburgh Steeler before the Eagles swooped in and sniped him. The Steelers ended up with a talented tackle in Max Iheanachor, but still have their two biggest needs to fill. With that in mind, let’s try to guess the Steelers second round pick in five tries:
1. Germie Bernard: WR – Alabama

The Steelers were in the wide receiver business in round one, so there’s no reason to believe they won’t be in round two. Germie Bernard is a safe, but unspectacular player out of the University of Alabama. He was their leading receiver in 2025 with over 700 yards, and 6 touchdowns. He played in various spots on offense including in the slot, out wide, and even some in the backfield for the Crimson Tide. Bernard won’t set the world on fire with his speed or big play ability. He will be a quarterback’s best friend however running precise routes, and having sure hands. This is not a sexy pick by any means, but a potentially solid player for years to come.
2. Emmanual Pregnon: OG – Oregaon

Guard is still a major need for the Steelers, and Emmanuel Pregnon is the best left on the board at that position. This will require the Steeles to trade up, but they have plenty of ammunition to do so. Pregnon was rated higher than Keylan Rutledge by many draft experts, who went in the first round. Pittsburgh met with Pregnon at the combine so there is a level of interest here.
3. Denzel Boston: WR – Washington

Denzel Boston met with the Steelers at the combine, and came in for a pre-draft visit. He is a big, contested catch type of receiver with plenty of production at Washington. Not my favorite receiver, but certainly one the Steelers have interest in.
4. Chris Bell: WR – Louisville

This may be wishful thinking on my part, although the Steelers did meet with Bell at the combine. Bell is a big, powerful, fast receiver who’s been compared to AJ Brown. He is coming off knee surgery, but has been running full speed already. This is exactly the type of big play receiver this offense needs. If he is available at 53, the Steelers should run the card up for this player.
Treydan Stukes: CB/S – Arizona

There is a world where the Steelers are comfortable enough with Spencer Anderson at guard, and are ok getting a wide receiver in round three. In that world, Treydan Stukes becomes the top target. Stukes ran a 4.3/40, on his way to killing his combine workout. He is an elite slot corner, with some safety versatility as well. This would be a tremendous selection at pick 53 in this draft.
